So we've all seen the Captain America: Civil War Trailer and I think we all agree that it looks awesome. We will finally get to see how they tell the iconic story in the MCU. How will they tackle the Superhuman Registration Act? Will Spiderman have a significant role? Maybe Captain America's shield refuses to come back to him and decides to start a new life in Eastern Europe? We'll find out in the UK on April 29th.
What do we know from the Trailer? We see Tony Stark threaten to punch Steve Rogers in his perfect white teeth and then we see Iron Man having his ass handed to him by Winter Soldier and Captain America. Thaddeus Ross enters a room handing Steve Rogers some papers, which we assume is the MCU's Superhuman Registration Act. After a long hiatus Thunderbolt Ross is back sporting a magnificent piece of facial hair which makes Civil War a rare but genuine reason to see it in 3D. Also we catch a glimpse of Black Panther doing some running and general milling about, Falcon does some twist/jump fighting stuff, Tony Stark wears a suit and War Machine has a lie down. With all the 2:27 running time we still didn't get to see Spiderman which I think is a good thing. With so many leaked stories it is rare to get a suprise in a movie and I for one would prefer if they kept this one a suprise. Maybe Spiderman can appear in the background just doing everyday stuff like that thing that happens when some wind blows an important piece of paper out of your hands and you are forced to give chase.
The thing that impressed me about the trailer is that Civil War will clearly be a different story to the Winter Soldier but yet the action looks just as gripping and has that dark tone which worked so well in Cap 2. We get it in the UK first on April 29th, the US a week after on May 6th.
