Welcome to our news page. We bring you news of all of the upcoming MCU movies including casting, potential plots, gossip, spoilers, directors and bascially anything related to the MCU. We'll use any news to hark back to the previous movies in the endles pursuit of easter eggs which became cannon. We will keep you posted on all phase three movies and beyond updating our news pages as soon as news breaks. Ant Man UK Release Date 17th July
Fully cast and filming finished. Ant Man has another great cast including Pull Rudd (as the titular character), Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll and Michael Pena. Ant Man was trapped in production for a long, long time. The origiona script by Edgar Wright was described as very funny by Joss Whedon but Wright was ultimatley dropped as director. He is still credited as writer so we think some of the origional story will remain. Read more and check out the trailer here.
Captain America: Civil War Release Date 29th April 2016
With most of the Avengers cast turning up in Cap 3 it will feel like Avengers 2.5. Events in the previous movie convinces the government to enforce a new law known as the 'Superhuman Registration Act'. Based on the 2006-2007 comics it seems that the story will be similar with Iron Man & Cap on opposing sides. Iron Man believes in the act and thinks that heroes should reveal their identity and work for the government. Captain America opposes the act and feels it will infringe civil liberties. Doctor Strange Release Date
28th October 2016
Doctor Strange is due for release in 2016. Having been mentioned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier by Agent Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernandez) the internet went crazy with potential rumours. With news breaking in late 2014 that Benedict Cumberbatch would indeed play the titular character it got fans in a frenzy. According to reports the movie will follow quite closely to expectations. Guardians of the Galaxy Release Date
5th May 2017
Not much is known about the upcoming sequel being released in 2017. What we do know is the writer/director James Gunn will be returning to helm the sequel to one of the most successful films of 2014. News of the next movie was announced at San Diego Comic Con when the director paired with star Chris Pratt in a video presentation. Much speculation has led fans to think the movie may feature Peter Quill's hunt for his father who turns out not to be from Earth. Keep up to date on our Guardians of the Galaxy news page.
Spider-Man Release Date 28th July 2017
Probably the most talked about character is the Marvel Universe is Spider-Man. When news broke of a deal between Sony and Marvel meaning the MCU could include Spidey in their movies fans went crazy. Kevin Feige has explained that he would like a teenage Spider-Man so that they can explore his high school adventures in more detail than the previous movies. We will get a Spider-Man stand alone film as early as July 2017 but the character could be introduced in Captain America: Civil War. Get the scoop here
Thor: Ragnarok Release Date
3rd November 2017
Threequel to Thor was originally slated for July 28th release date. When Sony and Marvel agreed a deal to include Spider-Man in the MCU Thor: Ragnarok got pushed back to November of the same year. It makes sense to release the Spider-Man solo adventure in the height of summer. Thor: Ragnarok will once again feature Thor and Loki and is said to pick up after we leave Thor in Avengers Age of Ultron. Get the rundown here.
Black Panther Release Date
July 6th 2018
A Black Panther solo movie was announced at the end of 2014. Originally slated for release on November 3rd 2017 but when Spider-Man took Thor: Ragnorak's spot, the demi god's third solo outing pushed back to Black Panther's November 2017 slot meaning we won't get to see the Panther until 6th July 2018. Chadwick Boseman was announced to play the titular hero and is reported to have signed a five picture deal. Read more here.
Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 Release Date May 2018
Part 2 Release Date May 2019
Avengers Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 was the climax of Kevin Feige's phase 3 annoucements in 2014. With Joss Whedon leaving MCU's headline franchise Captain America: The Winter Soldier's directors the Russo brothers have signed on to direct the two parter being released in 2018 & 2019. The movies will see in the end of phase 3 which begins with 2016's Captain America: Civil War. Keep up to date here.
Captain Marvel Release 2nd November 2018
A movie announced in Kevin Feige's 2014 presentation was Captain Marvel. Feige is quoted as saying “This Captain Marvel’s name is Carol Danvers," which means we will get to see our first female led superhero movie in the MCU. Danvers adventures begin on Earth but her powers are very much based in the intergallactic universe which could be important in connecting the Guardians of The Galaxy with our Earth bound heroes.
Inhumans Release Date November 2018
The 21st movie in the MCU will be Marvel's Inhumans. Kevin Feige broke news of the movie in 2014 and links with Marvel's Agents of SHIELD mean that wheels are already in motion. Given that we are some five years away from seeng Inhumas on the big screen anything we hear should be take with a huge pinch of salt. Keep up to date with the latest rumblings here.
